Who are Shine?

Shine School Awards are a free-to-enter competition for UK-based secondary schools that offer media courses. They support students in these schools with lesson plans for staff as well as the awards as a target to aim for. They are trying to achieve encouragement for young people in print, digital and media which in tern would develop skills such as teamwork and leadership.

Why Enter their Awards

These awards and normally entered by private and more traditional schools. We would love to enter these to disrupt the normal teaching of media and show them what’s possible at a dedicated school with talented teachers and students. Plus we think our work that we do all day every day is pretty cool!

We think that these award categories would be the best to enter. I’ve also provided a short bit of information about the project at the academy that we would like to enter.

Best Design – Youths Choice Branding

We are looking to enter the full Youths Choice brand for best design. This would encompass all aspects of our digital image and how it’s reflected across platforms. I think our logo, brand colours, social media posts, and thumbnails would be a great entry for this award!

Best Audio – Youths Choice on Air Branding

We think that the new Youths Choice on-air branding would be a perfect entry for this category. We would showcase our abilities from scouting VO artists to recording, compressing and combining with SFX, music and more!

Best Overall Content – Youths Choice / The Loop TikTok and Youtube

We would be showcasing our wide variety of content and it’s relevance to our target audience

Best Multimedia – The Loop

For this award we would enter our sub-brand The Loop. We would be showing the judges how we are able to take a story and essentially make it appear everywhere. Between Long form video on YouTube, short form on TikTok, Audio Versions on the Radio as live news bulletins, Podcasts on Spotify, to Digital posts on socal media we really can do it all!

Best Business and Marketing Strategy – Youths Choice / The Loop

Again, this would show the marketing strategy behind the success of Youths Choice and the Loop from how we engage young people into the world of news and politics though the loop, our social media posts and how we keep thousands of listeners and followers entertained on all platforms from our website, YouTube channel, social media and Radio Station! 

Best Piece on a Designated Topic – Youths Choice, County Lines

We would look to enter our video and short-form videos in partnership with the met police in London on County Lines and how it effects the wider community and past people who were involved though storytelling and interviews
