As part of my Idea Development for the new youths choice Music Posts. I created a few mockups and met with a small focus group of 7 people aged in the main target audience for Youths Choice to hear their thoughts.

Which one would you prefer to see in your feed?
Everyone Apart from 1 person said 3, the video. One person said number 2
Would you enjoy music behind the first two if we went with those?
Everyone agreed that it would be good however when someone pointed out that it wouldn’t be obvious that it has music people agreed it probably wasn’t a good idea
What Background do you prefer
1 person said the first one but without the logo
2 people said the second one as it was more simple
and 4 people said the animated background was cool however it didn’t feel like the logo was repeating itseld
Do you prefer the outline on the artwork?
Most people agreed that the outline on both the post and artwork in the first two looked quite tacky and so number 3 was best
In conclusion I will move forward with design 3, as my focus group and research has shown people respond better to videos with stand out branding. They also came up with some good points about the outlines and music!
