For the entries into the awards, I came across three main issues. The third issue that I had to overcome was actually how to improve the on-air image of Youths Choice. This involved a lot of research into what makes a good station sound and the person internally who was going to be able to make that happen for us.
In my research, I identified that part of my Planning and Production was going to have to include improving the Digital Image for Youths Choice. This would include updating all the on air production from Youths Choice, including
- TOHs (Top Of Hours)
- SWPs (Sweepers)
- JNGs (Jingles)
- ITBs (Into Breaks)
- OOBs (Out Of Breaks)
- RMPs (Ramps)
- PROs (Promos)
- BEDs
- Show Specific Imaging
I ended up deciding to use a student ‘Sam G’ in Year 13 as he wanted to do this for his FMP. I’ve decided to work with him on this as my research that I’ve completed into the target audience and into what a good station sound would be will be valuable to this project. I’ve also decided to complete the News and Sports News beds for the top of the hour as a starting place. You can take a listen to these below.

Deciding who would voice the new Production
As part of deciding who would make the new production I also had to decide who would voice the new production. I did voice-over sessions with over 20 students and decided on the 7 new voices we wanted to use! I’ve attached images below of the emails sent to them as well as the recorded files
