Context:

This week was a busy one, working on planning my next steps for both, updating the on-air and digital production for Youths Choice but also starting to write bullet points for the entries for the awards.

Research:

Most of my research was conducted in the first few weeks of this project but that doesn’t mean I didn’t conduct more! With my updating the on-air image of Youths Choice I was spending lots of time with our new Head of Production and Imaging talking with him and listening to demos to decide who is the best fit. Taking in his ideas and expertise. For the digital image I referred back to a colleague on a few occasions on ideas I wasn’t too sure about like the border design, and finally, I was in constant communication with my team when writing the entries working on what they wanted to come across in them.

Problem-Solving:

I didn’t experience any major problems this week, it was mostly smooth sailing! I did have a bit of an issue with the best piece on a designated topic, however, I had only received a blurb of the video up until this point. I thought it was best to watch the video in full before writing the bullet points. I requested the video from the shared area, this was approved and I watched the video. I mentioned a few issues with random cuts that should be changed and continued writing!

Planning, Production & Practical Skills:

Clearly EVERYTHING I did this week was planning but a lot was using my own practical skills so, here’s a summary! I created two new posts with the new template and experimented around with other ideas for layouts and colours, I consulted other colleagues for the best solution for this, I narrowed down our final voices for the on-air rebrand to 8 people, and emailed the successful and unsuccessful candidates providing the successful artists with more info on the next steps! Finally, I wrote in bullet point form my entries for the awards, for each award I showcased the 3 most important points!

Evaluation:

All in all, I think that this was a successful and productive week of ‘FMPing’! Getting this much done in a week takes dedication and hard work, especially in an organisation where the goalposts keep changing and I need to run ideas past multiple people!
